  • 17 GE Vernova 6.1 MW turbines to deliver one of Italy’s largest wind projects awarded in the December 2025 GSE auction
  • Project builds on the Monfalcone development, strengthening GE Vernova’s long‑term relationship with IVPC Group
  • Two‑piece blade technology and flexible O&M model enable deployment in complex Italian sites

RIMINI, Italy (March 4, 2026) – GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE: GEV) announced today that it has been selected by IVPC Group, a major Italian renewable energy operator, to supply 17 of its 6.1 MW-158m* onshore wind turbines for a new wind farm in Fortore, Benevento, Italy. The over 100 megawatt (MW) project represents one of the largest wind farms secured during the December 2025 auction conducted by Italy’s energy agency Gestore dei Servizi Energetici (GSE).

Under the agreement—finalized in Q4 2025—GE Vernova will deliver a tailored Operations and Maintenance (O&M) framework, enabling IVPC and GE Vernova to jointly manage routine maintenance tasks. Turbine deliveries are set to commence in Q2 2027.

The Fortore installation will leverage GE Vernova’s 6 MW onshore platform, which incorporates segmented blade technology. This design enhances transportation logistics and facilitates access to geographically challenging locations while optimizing energy output.

This project follows a pivotal achievement in the GE Vernova-IVPC partnership: the deployment of Italy’s first Cypress 6.1 MW turbine at IVPC’s Montefalcone site. The Montefalcone initiative involves upgrading up to five turbines to boost capacity and extend operational lifespan. Combined with the Fortore development, these projects highlight GE Vernova’s strategic role in advancing Italy’s renewable energy and infrastructure modernization goals.

Gilan Sabatier, Chief Commercial Officer for GE Vernova’s Onshore Wind business in International Markets, stated: “We are honored to extend our collaboration with IVPC Group on the Fortore wind farm. The project strengthens our presence in the country and our commitment to the European energy transition, while highlighting how our 6.1 MW–158m technology gives operators a competitive edge in auctions through large-scale, sustainable energy delivery. We look forward to continuing our strong collaboration with IVPC as we support Italy’s energy transition goals.”

Oreste Vigorito, Owner and President of the IVPC Group remarked: “Building on the success of the Monfalcone project, we continue to choose GE Vernova for the flexibility of its service model—allowing us to lead transactional maintenance—and for its advanced split‑blade technology, which enables deployment in locations with logistical constraints.”

GE Vernova’s Onshore Wind division maintains approximately 59,000 turbines globally, representing nearly 120 GW of installed capacity. With over two decades of customer support, its portfolio delivers next-generation high-capacity turbines that advance decarbonization through cost-effective, sustainable energy solutions.

Currently, GE Vernova is implementing roughly 135 MW of wind capacity in Italy. Its Wind Service Team operates from a Center of Excellence in Troia (Foggia) and other regional hubs, minimizing downtime and ensuring peak performance. The company’s robust local infrastructure and execution expertise support wind farm development and repowering through strategic logistics and installation partnerships.

As a key contributor to Italy’s energy transition, GE Vernova has enabled power generation in the country for over a century. Today, approximately one-quarter of Italy’s power capacity relies on GE Vernova technology.
