GE Vernova Lands H-Class Turbine Order for EVN’s Quang Trach II LNG-Fueled Power Project in Vietnam

HANOI, Vietnam – June 23, 2026 – GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE: GEV) has announced a major equipment contract to supply two 9HA.02 gas turbines and two H78 generators for Vietnam Electricity’s (EVN) Quang Trach II LNG Power Plant. This new combined-cycle power station is set to deliver more than 1.6 GW of electricity, with full commercial operations expected by 2030, supporting Vietnam’s increasing need for efficient, adaptable, and dependable power generation.
The Quang Trach II LNG Power Plant is being developed by EVN in partnership with an EPC consortium comprising Power Construction Corporation of China and LILAMA Corporation. Situated within the Hon La Economic Zone in Quang Tri Province, Vietnam, the facility is poised to significantly contribute to the nation’s growing electricity needs while improving grid flexibility and reliability. The plant will utilize imported liquefied natural gas (LNG), which will be re-gasified and used to power the gas turbines in a highly efficient combined-cycle setup.
This development follows the recent milestone of GE Vernova’s HA gas turbine fleet surpassing 4 million commercial operating hours globally—an achievement underscoring the performance and reliability of one of the most advanced gas turbine platforms in the energy sector. With nearly 130 HA units currently operating across 21 countries, the fleet continues to enhance energy security, grid stability, and cost-effective power generation worldwide.

GE Vernova’s presence in Vietnam dates back to 1993, and the company has collaborated with EVN since the utility’s founding in 1995. Today, GE Vernova’s technologies support Vietnam’s power infrastructure through a range of installed equipment and services nationwide, including approximately 2.2 GW of gas power capacity. The company employs nearly 1,100 people across nine locations in Vietnam and maintains local operational capabilities, including a repair center in Phu My and an HRSG manufacturing facility in Dung Quat.
