The 1.6 GW Nhon Trach 3&4 Power Plant in Vietnam—fitted with GE Vernova’s state-of-the-art 9HA.02 combined-cycle gas turbines—has been awarded both the Plant of the Year and Top Gas Plant distinctions. Operated by PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power), this facility marks Vietnam’s first large-scale LNG-fired power plant. With a combined-cycle efficiency exceeding 63%, it plays a pivotal role in the nation’s updated Power Development Plan VIII (PDP8), delivering flexible, dependable power that enables greater integration of renewable energy sources into the national grid.
Dominion Energy Parr Station: Revitalizing a Legacy for the Modern Grid. Dominion Energy’s Parr Station upgrade has been honored with the POWER Magazine Reinvention Award, recognizing the transformation of a century-old power site into a modern, high-efficiency energy asset. By implementing GE Vernova’s LM6000VELOX* packaged solution, the project delivers rapid start-up capability, black start functionality, and enhanced operational agility—critical features for balancing the intermittent nature of renewable generation. Located in South Carolina, the Parr Station modernization seamlessly connects over 100 years of energy service with the evolving requirements of a sustainable, resilient power system.
