  • Multi-year investment highlights commitment to workforce development and the energy transition
  • Upgraded Houston Learning Center boosts global training capacity and efficiency
  • Partnerships with local schools create practical career pathways for students

HOUSTON (February 12, 2026) – GE Vernova (NYSE: GEV) announced the launch of new education partnerships with three Houston-area school districts, alongside the completion of a significant modernization of its Houston Learning Center (HLC), the company’s primary global training hub for power generation and service professionals.

The announcement coincided with the “Powering Progress: Honoring our legacy, building our future” event held at the facility and forms part of GE Vernova’s broader multi-year investment strategy across manufacturing, services, and innovation.

“GE Vernova remains focused on developing the workforce of the future, based on our belief that advanced technologies require highly skilled professionals,” said Steve Kessinger, Vice President of Global Services for GE Vernova’s Gas Power division. “Investments in facilities like the Houston Learning Center and expanded training capabilities ensure our teams, customers, and partners are prepared to meet the rising global demand for energy expertise.”

The HLC also plays a central role in GE Vernova’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) initiatives, introducing students and early-career professionals to hands-on technical roles in the energy sector. Each year, the center trains thousands of participants through immersive programs covering gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and control systems.

The recent upgrades significantly enhance the company’s ability to scale workforce training in line with its growing global services footprint. By expanding capacity and integrating advanced simulation tools alongside practical training environments, the center helps accelerate technician readiness, shorten time to productivity, and support long-term service agreements. This scalable approach is designed to meet increasing customer demand and strengthen GE Vernova’s ability to deliver consistent, high-quality services across its global installed base.

The modernization of the HLC includes:

  • Expansion of the facility, enabling training for thousands of technicians, engineers, and customers each year
  • Upgraded classrooms, new simulation systems, and enhanced hands-on training areas centered around the company’s flagship 7HA.03 gas turbine — one of the most advanced power generation technologies currently in operation

“We are proud to continue investing in advanced training infrastructure and strengthening collaborations with local school districts such as Deer Park, Channelview, and Alief,” said Jim Vono, One Field Services Leader at GE Vernova’s Gas Power business. “These partnerships provide students with exposure to real industrial environments, modern energy technologies, and career opportunities in high-demand technical fields.”

Tiffany Regan, Superintendent of Deer Park, added: “This collaboration represents the future of career and technical education. By working with GE Vernova, we are creating clear and relevant pathways from the classroom to the workforce, leading to meaningful employment opportunities for students.”

These workforce development efforts align with GE Vernova’s broader capital investment strategy, which includes nearly $600 million allocated to U.S. manufacturing facilities, as well as additional funding for advanced repair capabilities and new technologies.
