ABB has broadened its SD200 841 heavy-duty motor range to include 500 horsepower options. Newly introduced larger frame designs deliver enhanced power output for challenging industrial applications while maintaining strict adherence to IEEE 841-2021 standards. Engineered for extreme operating conditions, these motors provide the durable performance, operational reliability, and extended lifespan required for demanding industrial environments.

ABB’s SD200 841 series meets or exceeds IEEE 841-2021 specifications for energy efficiency, operational performance, construction quality, variable-frequency operation, and extended maintenance intervals. With the integration of expanded 5000 series NEMA frame dimensions (5009 to 5013), the product line now covers 75 to 500 horsepower. This expansion surpasses the previous 449T frame limitation, offering comprehensive power solutions for large-scale industrial equipment operating in harsh conditions.

Engineered for challenging environments

ABB’s SD200 841 series provides IP56 environmental protection for reliable operation in wet, dusty environments. Class H insulation systems deliver enhanced thermal resistance to ensure prolonged motor longevity in high-temperature applications. Dual-end bearing isolators effectively block contaminants and minimize unscheduled maintenance requirements. These motors maintain low vibration levels at 0.06 IPS, ensuring smooth operation in high-torque scenarios. Each unit includes an IEEE 841 compliance test report and comes with a five-year warranty. Safety certifications include UR component recognition and CSA approvals for Class I Division 2 and Class II Division 2 hazardous locations. Enlarged conduit enclosures and field-adjustable configurations simplify installation, wiring, and servicing. The 5000 frame series now features standard factory-installed terminal blocks instead of traditional lead wires, enhancing connection integrity, streamlining installation processes, and improving service accessibility.
