ABB has achieved 14th position in TIME’s “World’s Most Sustainable Companies 2025” list and third place in Switzerland across all industrial sectors. TIME and Statista analyzed 5,000 major global corporations based on revenue, market value, and public influence. The top 500 firms from 35 countries and 21 industries were selected through a four-stage evaluation process measuring over 20 key sustainability metrics. Assessment categories included sustainable business models, ESG commitments, reporting transparency, and environmental/social governance. Companies received composite scores up to 100 points, with ABB earning 81.92.

The company has established science-based net-zero goals verified by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). ABB plans to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 80% by 2030 and achieve full carbon neutrality by 2050 against 2019 baselines. By 2024, ABB had already cut Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 78% since 2019, with Scope 3 emissions declining 8% compared to 2022.

ABB’s climate transparency leadership has earned recognition from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), placing it on the 2025 Climate “A List.” The firm also received the highest MSCI ESG Ratings score (AAA) in May 2025, reflecting superior environmental, social, and governance performance.
