ATLANTA, GA (February 13, 2025) – GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE: GEV) announced that Dominion Energy’s Bushy Park Combustion Turbine (Bushy Park CT) facility achieved commercial operation on November 1, 2024, in Berkeley County, South Carolina. The 52 megawatt** Bushy Park CT #1, powered by the LM6000VELOX* package, is the first LM6000VELOX package solution to be in operation worldwide.

Launched in 2023, the LM6000VELOX package was designed to reduce the installation and commissioning time for LM6000 aeroderivative gas turbines by up to 40%. This innovation helps lower costs and speed up the process, while also minimizing construction delays for power utilities, EPCs, and other industry players.

The new LM6000VELOX, along with two additional units for Dominion Energy’s Parr facility in Fairfield County, South Carolina, is replacing older peaking generation units. These units assist in meeting high energy demand periods and complement solar power when the sun isn’t fully available throughout the day. Both the Bushy Park and Parr units offer a variety of flexible operational features, including dual-fuel capabilities, fast-starting, synchronous condensing, and black start. GE Vernova also supplied selective catalytic reduction and oxidation catalyst systems, paired with dry low exhaust combustion, to ensure top-tier air emissions performance without relying on water injection.

With over 40 million operating hours and more than 1,300 units delivered, the LM6000 aeroderivative gas turbine remains a leader in the +40 MW market. In addition to the two LM6000VELOX packages currently being installed at Dominion Energy’s Parr facility, there are also ten units being installed at the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Johnsonville Aeroderivative Power Plant, slated to begin operations in 2025. Moreover, GE Vernova has announced the first LM6000VELOX solution to begin operating on 100% hydrogen at the Whyalla hydrogen power plant in Australia, expected in 2026.
