Five-Year Extension Formalized in Houston

In Houston, bp and ABB signed a five-year Global Frame Agreement (GFA), extending their collaboration. This agreement positions ABB as a primary supplier for automation, electrical, and telecommunications systems across bp’s upstream and downstream operations.

Under this partnership, ABB will deploy its Integrated Control and Safety System (ICSS), featuring the ABB Ability™ System 800xA® Distributed Control System. This advanced technology will facilitate bp’s adoption of new systems while optimizing existing operations. The modular, open automation environment aims to enhance performance and resilience.

The long-term support includes maintenance and health monitoring for electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. Asset management, obsolescence management, and spare parts support are integral to ABB’s offerings.
