ABB has introduced My Measurement Assistant+, an advanced AI-driven digital solution for maintaining and troubleshooting measurement devices in industrial environments. By integrating generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), cloud computing, and Augmented Reality (AR), this web application consolidates data from various IT and operational technology sources, offering a centralized hub for information retrieval, diagnostics, and remote assistance.
Embedded within ABB Ability™ Genix Copilot, a GenAI solution co-developed with Microsoft, My Measurement Assistant+ enhances industrial efficiency, productivity, and sustainability by intelligently processing vast amounts of data.
With instant access to key information and communication tools, ABB estimates that My Measurement Assistant+ can drastically cut down troubleshooting time, raising first-time fix rates by as much as 50%.
“My Measurement Assistant+ is now central to ABB’s digital measurement solutions,” said David Lincoln, Global Digital Lead at ABB Measurement & Analytics. “It leverages GenAI to provide round-the-clock support for industrial measurement devices, ensuring that frontline workers receive precise information when and where they need it.”
“The collaboration between Microsoft and ABB highlights the transformative power of GenAI in industry,” stated Sonja Meindl, Enterprise Commercial Director at Microsoft Switzerland. “Through Genix Copilot, My Measurement Assistant+ delivers insights that revolutionize maintenance and service processes, empowering industrial clients to operate more effectively.”
The platform facilitates seamless remote support for measurement devices by integrating ABB’s AR-based Visual Remote Support, enabling customers to securely engage with ABB experts via video calls. This feature minimizes on-site visits, enhances uptime, and expedites issue resolution.
A role-based experience powered by Genix Copilot ensures users manage their installed systems efficiently. Maintenance managers, for instance, can instantly access essential documentation, error codes, and spare part details, receiving accurate and actionable responses.
Designed with an intuitive interface, My Measurement Assistant+ is accessible from any device, allowing technicians and engineers to reference troubleshooting guides and instructional videos on-site, enhancing their ability to address complex challenges with confidence.
Further integrations with ABB’s digital tools, such as Dynamic QR codes, Condition Monitoring, and Genix Datalyzer, streamline access to actionable insights. Maintenance engineers can scan a Dynamic QR Code on a device to receive instant health reports, analysis, and relevant resources. Additionally, the solution supports in-depth root cause analysis using live device data.
